MMT – Multipurpose Modular Technology

MMT1

MMT (Multipurpose Modular Technology)

A collaborative project between four UTS Master of architecture students that explores a combination of computational technology and space to generate architecture. This project was completed in autumn 2009 and emerged as one of the strongest concepts within the studio group.

The concept used the idea of integrating LED lights to a flexible material that can be used to perform numerous different functions on various types of surfaces. Each of the team members came up with one unique exploration that produced four different proposals in total. This was an exciting project that allowed the opportunity to create  many different outcomes from one identical module and also investigate a unique definition of space in architecture.

MMT individual proposals:

-SVM (Sound Verbalizer Utility) by Leslie Leung

-De Javu by Alexander Gozalie

-Trailblazer by Amanda Taylor

-iTony by Tony Ho
